WCW/ECW ROYAL RUMBLE, Year 2


Match 1. Extreme Rules - CM Punk vs. Jack Swagger
Punk went for a clothesline, but Swagger ducked and hit a German suplex. Punk came back and went for the GTS, but Swagger escaped. Punk was on the top rope, but Swagger punched him and landed a super hip toss. Punk did hit the GTS, but got a near fall. Swagger landed a double underhook powerbomb and won.

After the match, Swagger grabbed a chair ad hit Punk multiple times.

Match 2. Tajiri vs. Bray Wyatt   ECW Television Championship
Bray landed some punches and a discus clothesline. Tajiri countered with a back elbow and hip toss. He later connected with a belly-to-belly side slam. Bray went for Sister Abigail, but Tajiri countered. He attempted the Buzzsaw kick, but Bray blocked it and hit his finisher. Tajiri kicked out. Bray busted Tajiri open with a chair. He hit a running cross body and a senton splash to win the title.

Match 3. Rob Van Dam vs. Brodus Clay   ECW Championship
RVD missed a leg drop. Clay grabbed him and landed a sit-out spine buster. He continued with a headbutt and t-bone suplex. The champ was in jeopardy. Clay low blowed Van Dam and connected with two more suplexes. RVD made a comeback. He dodged a headbutt and connected with a super kick. After a near fall, Clay caught RVD with a running splash to win.

Match 4. Hurricane Helms vs. Syxx w/ Scott Hall   WCW Cruiserweight Championship
Helms locked in a head scissors. He then had Syxx on his shoulders, but Pac countered it into a reverse DDT. After a long pin battle, Syxx caught Helms with a super kick to the jaw. Helms landed the Shining Wizard and almost won. After a snapmare, Syxx landed the X-Factor and won.

Match 5. Hulk Hogan vs. Kevin Nash vs. Edge   WCW Championship
Three title matches, three title changed. Things don't look good for Hogan. As soon as the bell rang, Hogan and Nash turned their attention to Edge. They landed a double gut buster and suplex. Hogan landed a hip toss on Edge and almost won. Nash accidentally clotheslined Hogan. He then hit Edge with the Jackknife and pulled Hogan across on Edge to have him retain.

Match 6. Iron Man - Antonio Cesaro vs. Bret Hart
Cesaro landed the uppercut and Neutralizer, but couldn't get a pin. He then had Bret in a torture rack, but Bret didn't tap. Bret locked in a sleeper and hit a piledriver to get the first point. A couple of minutes later, Bret hit Cesaro with a piledriver on the sledgehammer and went up 2-0. Cesaro tossed Bret up in the air and connected with the uppercut to score his first fall. After some fighting on the outside, Cesaro tied it up with the Neutralizer. Bret quickly took back the lead with a sleeper hold. Cesaro tied it back up after a tilt-a-whirl slam. With 20 seconds left, Bret took a 4-3 lead after locking in the Sharpshooter.

Main Event. 30-Man Royal Rumble
The first two entrants were Curt Hennig and Ted DiBiase. Hennig landed a dropkick and had Ted against the ropes. No. 3 was Ric Flair. DiBiase had Hennig hanging on the ropes, but Flair broke it up. No. 4 was Randy Savage. Hennig almost eliminated Flair. No. 5 was Sheamus. DiBiase eliminated Savage. No. 6 was Rey Mysterio. DiBiase scored his second elimination after kicking Sheamus in the head. No. 7 was Mick Foley. He helped Rey against DiBiase. Hennig knocked Flair off the apron. No.8 was Mark Henry. DiBiase shoved Hennig off the apron. Rey dropkicked Foley over the ropes. Rey took out DiBiase with a flying head scissors. Henry then clotheslined Rey over the top. He's the only one in the ring. No. 9 was Big Show. This should be fun. No. 10 was Scott Hall. He clotheslined Show from behind.

No. 11 was William Regal. Henry and Hall worked over Show. Henry then turned on Hall and scored an elimination. Regal sent Show to the apron and Henry finished the job. No. 12 was DDP. Page and Regal tried to eliminate Henry, but he was too strong. No. 13 was Rick Rude. Henry took out DDP, for his fourth elimination. No. 14 was Scott Steiner. Rude had Steiner in the corner and got the elimination. No. 15 was Ricky Steamboat. Rude went after Henry, but was in turn eliminated by Henry. No. 16 was Ultimate Warrior. He received a t-bone suplex from Regal. No. 17 was Wade Barrett. Henry military pressed Steamboat out of the ring. No. 18 was Bubba Ray Dudley. He hit Henry with the Bubba Cutter. Barrett tossed Regal out. Henry punched Warrior off the apron, elimination #7. No. 19 was D-Von Dudley. Barrett elimination Bubba with a clothesline. No. 20 was Erick Rowan.

Henry quickly eliminated Rowan. He's up to eight. No. 21 was Luke Harper. Can Henry break Kane's record? D-Von flipped Barrett over the top. No. 22 was Tazz. He tried to take out Henry. No. 23 was Tommy Dreamer. He and D-Von worked over Harper. No. 24 was Sabu. It's all ECW right now. Henry sent Harper to the apron and kicked him off. Henry got #10 after eliminating D-Von. No. 25 was Rhyno. No. 26 was Big E Langston. Dreamer eliminated Tazz. Sabu tossed Henry into the corner and kicked him over the top. Henry's been eliminated! Langston eliminated Rhyno. No. 27 was Stone Cold. He almost eliminated Langston. No. 28 was Goldberg. Austin was successful in tossing out Langston. Goldberg tossed Sabu out. No. 29 was Eddie Guerrero. Goldberg tossed Eddie across the ring with a belly-to-belly. No. 30 was Alberto Del Rio. Goldberg hit Austin with the Jackhammer. Eddie tossed Del Rio out of the ring. Goldberg eliminated Dreamer. Austin picked Eddie up and powerbombed him out of the ring. It's Austin and Goldberg in the final two! Goldberg missed a super kick, but hit a spine buster. After two tries, Goldberg clotheslined Austin over the top to win.

Recap: Bray Wyatt wins his first championship. Brodus Clay is the new champ. A new era has begun. Goldberg will be going to Starrcade. Nash let the title slip away in order for Hogan to retain. What a way to end January.
