WCW/WWE SOULED OUT, Year 3


Match 1. Jack Swagger vs. The Miz   WWE Intercontinental Championship
Swagger blocked a punch and planted Miz with a DDT. He then took out Miz's left knee. He continued with the gut wrench powerbomb, but got a two count. Miz dropkicked Swagger's back and then chop blocked his knee. After a near fall, Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale and won. That's one title change.

Match 2. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels
Michaels threw Triple H into the corner and hit a clothesline. He then busted him open with the Sweet Chin Music. Michaels missed a springboard splash and Triple H almost won. Triple H landed the face smash. He went for a spine buster, but HBK countered it into a DDT. Michaels missed a second splash and Triple H won with the super kick. Wow.

Match 3. Scott Steiner vs. Rick Rude
Rude landed a couple of hip tosses on Steiner. Steiner countered a suplex and slammed Rude. He went for a double underhook slam, but Rude broke free and won with the neck breaker.

Match 4. Mr. Anderson vs. Carlito vs. DDP vs. Wade Barrett   #1 Contender's Match
The winner will face Ziggler next week. Anderson hit Barrett with the rolling senton and got a two count. He then hit the Mic Check. DDP caught Anderson with a tilt-a-whirl side slam. Carlito hit Anderson with a diving leg drop. Wade hit Page with the Winds of Change and Wasteland to win. Barrett gets one more shot at Ziggler.

Match 5. Edge vs. John Cena vs. Chris Jericho   WWE Championship
Edge cost Jericho the win last week, so he gets a title shot. Edge threw Jericho out of the ring and into the steel steps. Jericho and Cena hit Edge with a double suplex. Edge came back and busted Jericho open with a float-over DDT. Cena hit Jericho with the AA. Cena and Jericho then hit Edge with a leg sweep/STO combo. They continued the beating with a clothesline/chop block double team move. Jericho turned and hit Cena with the Codebreaker. He then rolled Edge up to win the title.

Match 6. Matt Morgan vs. Big Show vs. Hulk Hogan   WCW Championship
Will Morgan lose the title six days after winning it? Yes, yes he will. Hogan and Show worked over the champ with a double suplex. Show then hit Morgan with the Final Cut leg drop. Hogan picked up Morgan and Show caught him with the Showstopper. Hogan and Show landed a double gut buster and Hogan got the win.

Main Event. 30-Man Royal Rumble
Everyone but the six men in the main title matches are eligible. The first two entrants were Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett, two United Kingdom teammates. Barrett had Drew against the ropes a couple of times. No. 3 was Razor Ramon. He's baaaaack! The UK members teamed up. No. 4 was Goldberg. He and Drew battled against the ropes. No. 5 was Dean Ambrose. Drew landed the Future Shock and eliminated Goldberg. No. 6 was Triple H. Drew and Wade double teamed The Game. No. 7 was Christian. Drew threw Razor into the corner and hit him with a big boot for the elimination. Triple H was then eliminated by Barrett. No. 8 was Brock Lesnar. Well, here comes the pain. Christian was on the apron when Drew hit a baseball slide for his third elimination. No. 9 was Batista. McIntyre then tossed out his teammate. No. 10 was Scott Steiner. Lesnar easily lifted Batista over his shoulder and tossed him out of the ring. No. 11 was The Rock.

Lesnar clotheslined Ambrose over the top. Scott and Lesnar fought in the corner. Rocky eliminated Drew. No. 12 was Carlito, who targeted Lesnar. No. 13 was Diamond Dallas Page. It has mostly been WCW Superstars. No. 14 was Adam Rose. He and Carlito hate each other. Lesnar threw Steiner over the top. Rock hit Page with a float-over DDT. No. 15 was William Regal. Rock eliminated Rose. Regal flipped Rock over the top and kicked him off the apron. DDP then eliminated Lesnar. No. 16 was Curt Hennig. Page placed Carlito on the apron and drove his knee into his head. No. 17 was Ultimate Warrior. He immediately hit Hennig with a back suplex. Regal clotheslined Page over the top. No. 18 was Randy Savage. He and Hennig fought against the ropes. No. 19 was Bobby Lashley. Savage punched Hennig off the apron. No. 20 was Jeff Hardy. Hardy went after Warrior, then Regal. No. 21 was Booker T. Jeff almost eliminated Warrior. Booker tossed Regal out. Savage threw Lashley into the corner and then clotheslined him over the top.

No. 22 was Big E Langston. Big E and Warrior eliminated Savage. Jeff then tossed out Booker. No. 23 was The Undertaker. Taker quickly eliminated Jeff. Big E and Taker hit Warrior with a double back breaker. No. 24 was Shawn Michaels. He went right after Taker. He landed a flying forearm and eliminated Taker. No. 25 was Seth Rollins. He hit Warrior with two back breakers. Big E had HBK on the apron and kicked him off. No. 26 was Roman Reigns. Rollins eliminated Warrior. No. 27 was Randy Orton. Reigns took Orton down with an STO. No. 28 was Dolph Ziggler. He immediately caught Reigns with a super kick. No. 29 was Diesel. Big Daddy Cool returns. Reigns went to eliminate Ziggler, but he ducked and Rollins was tossed out. Big E then eliminated Orton. Ziggler tossed Big E over the top. No. 30 was Alberto Del Rio. He almost eliminated Reigns. Ziggler hit Diesel with a super kick. Del Rio eliminated Reigns. Del Rio threw Ziggler into the corner and hit a big boot for the elimination. Diesel tossed Del Rio to the apron and then clotheslined him off to win.

Recap: I love Jericho as the WWE champion. It creates a lot of cool matchups. Can we see Diesel vs Hogan in two months? Great Rumble match. McIntyre surprised me in the early part of the match.
