WWE ROYAL RUMBLE, Year 4

The participants in the WWE title match will not be in the Rumble. Bobby Roode and Triple H will not compete either.

Match 1. Randy Orton vs. Brock Lesnar
The winner will compete in the WWE title match later tonight. Orton hit a shoulder tackle and Lou Thesz Press. Brock landed a German suplex on the outside and into the steel steps. He then hit another suplex. Orton got up and connected with an RKO. Orton threw Lesnar into the corner and busted him open with more punches. Orton hit two clotheslines and a snap slam. Lesnar landed one more German suplex and won with the F5.

Match 2. John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose
Triple H and Sami Zayn made appearances in the match. Triple H took out Zayn with a sledgehammer. He then went in the ring and landed the Pedigree on Cena. Cena countered Ambrose's suplex and hit the AA to win.

Match 3. Stone Cold vs. Kane
Kane stomped on Austin's left arm and then hit the sidewalk slam. Kane blocked a punch and hit the Tombstone. He got two near falls. Austin landed a back body drop and went for the Stunner, but Kane countered it and hit a second Tombstone. After a camel clutch, Kane landed another sidewalk slam and won.

Match 4. Wade Barrett vs. Corey Graves   WWE Interncontinental Championship
Wait...that's Paul Heyman at ringside with Barrett. I rhought Barrett was with The Industry? Heyman threw in a chair and Barrett hit Graves with a pump handle slam onto it. Graves came back and locked in Lucky 13. Barrett escaped and almost won after a sit-out spine buster. He then hit the Winds of Change and, after another near fall, won with Wasteland.

Match 5. Last Man Standing - Bobby Roode vs. Triple H
This feud has been building up to this for months. These two went at it as soon as bell rang. There's no love lost here. Triple H left the ring and brought in the steel steps as Roode pulled out a chair. After some power moves and long ref counts, Triple H hit the Pedigree. Roode got up at seven. Triple H went for a second Pedigree, but Roode countered it and hit Pay Off and won.

Match 6. Diesel vs. Sting vs. Brock Lesnar   WWE Championship
Good luck Big Daddy Cool. Oh. My. God. What a match. After a double gut buster, Sting busted Lesnar open with punches to the face. Much later, Lesnar DDT'd Diesel and busted him open. Sting kept targeting Lesnar's head. Sting caught Diesel with the Scorpion Death Drop, but Lesnar was right there. Lesnar countered Sting's suplex. Lesnar hit Diesel with a fall away slam. Sting picked Lesnar up and hit him with the Jackknife Powerbomb. Yep, you read that right. He then hit Lesnar with a huge belly-to-belly slam and won back the title.

Main Event. 20-Man Royal Rumble
This is the biggest Rumble of the three. The first two men were Randy Orton and The Rock. Told you it'd be star-studded. Rock quickly had Orton on the apron. No. 3 was Dean Ambrose. He hit Rock with an enziguiri. Rock and Orton tried to eliminate Dean, but he fought back. No. 4 was Ultimate Warrior. The lights went out and when they came back on...The Undertaker was standing in the ring. He's No. 5. The Deadman is back. Dean almost eliminated Orton. No. 6 was Stone Cold. He went after Rocky. Orton eliminated Dean. Taker knocked out Warrior. Austin eliminated The Rock. No. 7 was Shawn Michaels. Orton had Taker on the apron and then baseball slid him out of the match. Damn. No. 8 was Hulk Hogan. Austin eliminated Orton. No. 9 was Randy Savage. No. 10 was John Cena. Austin clotheslined Hogan over the top. No. 11 was Kane. No. 12 was Ric Flair. The Nature Boy returns! He went right after Cena. Austin eliminated Kane.

Flair and Cena eliminated Savage and Michaels, respecitvely. No. 13 was Magnus. Cena and Flair teamed up and eliminated Austin. No. 14 was Samoa Joe. He hit Flair with a German suplex. Dueling "Let's Go Cena/Cena Sucks" chants took over. Flair tossed out Joe. Cena eliminated Flair. This is going quick. No. 15 was James Storm. He hit Cena with a huge back suplex. No. 16 was Sami Zayn. Magnus eliminated Cena. Wow. Storm and Zayn landed a huge double spine buster. No. 17 was Corey Graves. Graves went right after his enemy, Zayn. The young stars took over the match. Magnus body slammed Storm out of the match. No. 18 was Bray Wyatt. No. 19 was Cody Rhodes and eliminated Magnus. No. 20 was Batista. Uh oh. He was targeting everybody. Cody dumped Bray over the top. Batista eliminated Graves. After some three-way action, Batista eliminated Zayn. Cody ducked a clothesline and eliminated Batista to win the Rumble.

Recap: Sting is the WWE champ for the third (or fourth) time. Great to see Taker and Flair back. I was not expecting Cody Rhodes to win.

Stats: Austin led with 4 elimination. Cena, Flair and Cody had 3 each.
